White Pigeon, which normally supports mine clearance work in Sri Lanka, is the main charity providing relief in the north and east of the country, including Point Pedro.


These pictures were taken Sam Hensman in Point Pedro after the tidal wave.

As you can see, the small house has been very badly damaged. The road in front of the house has been torn up, and the flood wall along the beach has largely been washed away. The concrete wall in front of the houses has been totally destroyed. You can see the remains of the right-hand gate post in one of the pictures below.
